Fulya is an Assistant Professor at IBEI. Her research explores the political underpinnings of capitalist market building in the Global South. Her most recent work explores the rise of Islamic finance in non-Western settings. Currently, she is leading the FLAS project, exploring the link between financialization and regime survival trajectories.
Jonas is a PhD student at Pompeu Fabra University. He is mainly interested in the politics of authoritarian survival and democratisation. Previously, Jonas worked as a research assistant for several projects that examined the rise of far-right movements in Germany.
FLAS team works with an interdisciplinary team of international collaborators who excel in their respective fields. Together, we devise research strategies, collect and analyze data and report the findings.
